LONGEVITY LENS / RECOVERY

The body needs margin, not theatre.

Recovery is where exceptional hospitality can become genuinely useful — by removing friction around sleep, movement, physiotherapy, thermal exposure, nutrition and time outside.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Four questions
that sharpen the brief.

01

Match intensity to the person

Recovery after training is different from rehabilitation after injury or illness. The latter requires appropriate clinical oversight.

02

Strength is part of longevity

Resistance training and maintenance of function matter across adulthood; premium retreats should not reduce recovery to passive treatments.

03

Heat and cold are tools

Sauna, cold exposure and hydrotherapy may be enjoyable and useful in selected contexts, but they are not universal prescriptions.

04

Build the return home

The best programme leaves a routine that survives after checkout.
